A journey of a Lifetime to The Great Wall of China

Not many of us get to say we are about to embark on the ‘challenge of a lifetime’ but 18-year-old Fraser MacDonald, son of Enduria Travel directors John and Shirley MacDonald, is saying just that!

This summer, Fraser, alongside twenty of his fellow students from Brunel University London, will be heading to Beijing to take part in a fundraising trek along the epic Great Wall of China. The trek has been co-ordinated through Childreach, a children’s charity devoted to helping children in Bangladesh, Brazil, India, Morocco, Nepal, Tanzania and the UK, and Rare Adventures, an adventure travel company born out of the charity sector. The trek which will take between ten and sixteen days, will expose the students to some of China’s most popular tourist hotspots, as well as lesser known areas, where they will experience life with local farmers, even learning to make traditional Chinese dumplings!

This trip of a lifetime will be not only a physical challenge, with treks lasting at least six hours per day, but also an emotional one, as they discover a new culture, meet new people and push themselves completely out of their comfort zones. In taking part in this trip, Fraser will be raising much-needed funds for Childreach, a charity that he feels passionately about.

“Childreach International does exceptional work to improve the lives of children worldwide through education and other basic human rights. I have always had a love of traveling, and jumped at the opportunity to travel for such a wonderful cause”.

All of us at Enduria Travel are backing Fraser and his colleagues and we will be keeping track of their progress via the Rare Adventures social media links, which you can find right here.

If you would like to help Fraser hit his fundraising target of £2895.00 you can head to his MyDonate page right here where you can quickly and easily leave a much-appreciated donation of your choice.
